Ex-BP CEO, Tony Hayward, poses in his new work clothes, at his first day on the job, in the oil fields of Siberia. I hear it gets evencolder in the winter.
Don't fret over Tony, plenty of dough in bonus money, not to mention 600,000 pounds (that's pounds) annual salary in the new position, to keep him warm. It's not a lateral shift, but it still isn't the same as getting sacked.
Siberia's a long way from the yacht races, that's for sure. Who knows, maybe he'll be able to see Sarah Palin's eight-foot-high fence from his house.
I wonder if BP decided to keep Hayward on to discourage him from telling tales out of school. I also wonder if he's being sent to Siberia to lessen the likelihood of him doing interviews that could produce more embarrassment or worse, from BP's POV, create legal problems.
Can I speak out while holding my Peace? I know you all thought I was going to spell it the other way;) I heard Oct. is the last of Tony on Payroll. I can't confirm nor do I care to. It's a good story and I'm sticking to it.;)
At least he's finally getting his life back, poor guy.
